In that moment, at that early age, Karla knew that she was going to dedicate her life to the Planet.

Jeff Hino, Videographer, Eventful Productions
I have extensive experience in the application of instructional design and technology to science-based education and Extension outreach products and activities. My audiences—and content experts—have ranged from Kindergarten kids to scientists. My passion is to serve as a “friendly disruptor” injecting new ideas and methods into the most incredible of all human endeavors: learning.
I consider myself a digital strategist, and am a strong believer in the capacity of technology to add new dimensions to learning. However, it still boils down to a human activity; so I pride myself in being able to “feel the pain” of those who are venturing into new methodologies and technologies for teaching and learning.
I also have a long history in the production of documentary videos, websites, and other learning products. My portfolio also includes international work in instructional technology and documentary production. Newly retired, after 36 years, I look forward to continuing my exploration of digital strategy, storytelling and learning innovation as a consultant and producer.

Kim Mosiman, Executive Director
Sound Equine Options, Gresham Oregon
Kim co-founded SEO with Scott W Hansen, DVM, in 2009. Kim spent 20 years in the veterinary field, and her experience includes Newberg Equine Clinic, Carlton Veterinary Hospital and Columbia Equine Hospital. While managing Columbia Equine Hospital, Kim noticed a dramatic increase in the number of horses that were not receiving adequate care due to the economy, increasing horse population, and other causes. After researching resources for clients with horses in need, she discovered there was a shortage of veterinary-focused horse rescue organizations in northwest Oregon and southwest Washington.
Since 2009, Kim has overseen the growth of SEO from a small organization offering low-cost veterinary services to one that provides a wide variety of programs and assists with law enforcement cases and seizures.

Sarah Hofkamp, (Former) Head Trainer
Colorado Horse Rescue, Longmont, Colorado
Dedicated to creating safe solutions for horses in need
While at the Colorado Horse Rescue, my life has been dedicated to expanding my knowledge and understanding of how horses think and communicate not only with each other but their human counterparts. I feel it is my personal responsibility to give these amazing creatures the best quality of life a person can offer by not only helping them in every way I can but also teaching those around me. Over the years I have been blessed by countless individuals, human and horse alike, as they have shared their wisdom and experiences with me. In 2015 I successfully acquired my Certification as an equine training instructor and have since built a strong network of students and mentors in the equine industry.
When I served as the Equine Training Manager for the Colorado Horse Rescue my goals were to give second chances to the horse in need. To give these individuals the training, skills and opportunities to transition into their next homes. While also providing high-quality educational opportunities to the public and our supporting communities. I strive to create a more stable equine community and offer support in as many ways as I can.

Bruce Connally, DVM
Dr. Connally is excited to return to private practice after 7 years as an assistant professor at Colorado State University college of Veterinary Medicine. His experience at CSU served to refine his skills and give him an opportunity to study the best diagnostic and treatment protocols available today. Dr. Connally also spent three years at Michigan State University Veterinary School where he completed a Masters Degree in Large Animal Clinical Sciences. This advanced training added to his 30 years of clinical experience gives Dr. Connally the expertise necessary to care for the higher level equine athlete. Because he is also a competitor with his own horses, he understands the competitive environment.
On a more personal level, Dr. Connally just enjoys the equine athlete. It doesn’t matter whether the horse is working cattle or performing in the dressage arena. It is not every day that a person gets so fortunate to have his vocation and avocation the same.

Arabian Horse Rescue and Education
Our rescue and rehabilitation program focuses on the whole horse. We address the nutritional, physical, and emotional well being of our horses. Each horse that we rescue receives individualized treatment, care, and training, so that its full potential can be realized. Our goal is to prepare our horses to be solid riding partners and if physically they are unable to be ridden, we prepare them for life as companion horses.
Our primary focus is intercepting horses at her local auction. Arabian horses that sell at auction are at extreme risk of being purchased for slaughter. We further intercept horses through our Owner Surrender Program. When space and resources permit, we accept horses from owners who have run out of time to re-home their horses safely. www.arabianhorserescueedu.org
